Stop Polystyrene from making a scene

OSPIRG is Calling on All Politically Active Neighbors!

The Oregon State Public Interest Research Group is calling on anyone in the West Hills area to get involved with their neighbors. We know that people in neighborhood communities are passionate about common sense policy solutions to problems like plastic waste, the high cost of health care, and more.

That’s why OSPIRG is creating Neighborhood Action Teams. Their mission: to act for the public interest at the local level –starting with
building support for a statewide ban on polystyrene foam.

We know that when we take action together, we can make a difference: Oregon recently passed a statewide ban on single use plastic bags and many cities around the state have already gotten rid of polystyrene. A foam ban bill failed in the 2019 legislative session by just one vote in the Senate, but we could easily overcome it with enough pressure from Oregonians to their legislators.

Nothing Oregonians use for a few minutes like foam containers should pollute our future for hundreds of years. Join us for the first meeting of your local Neighborhood Action Team and help us make meaningful
changes in our state!

Here are the details for this upcoming Zoom meeting:
When: Tuesday, March 8th from 5:30 to 6pm
