“Saving Lives along Shattuck Road” Strategy Session: Wed., Feb. 12th @ 7 pm online

SW residents are strategizing ways to improve safety on Shattuck Road. An opportunity to connect other constituents is scheduled for February 12, 2025. Comments regarding safety on Shattuck expressed at the meeting or sent to contact@swhrl.org will be compiled and presented to elected officials.

7:00 to 7:20 PM (including Q&A): Mimi Phillips (Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT)) will describe the planned late Spring 2025 safety improvements to the intersection of SW Shattuck and Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway.

7:20 PM to 7:35 PM (including Q&A): Marita Ingalsbe (president of the Hayhurst Neighborhood Association and co-chair of Friends of Alpenrose) will go over transportation safety concerns for SW Shattuck and neighboring streets. This includes both the forthcoming traffic study (to be paid for by the Raleigh Crest developers) and PBOT’s list of possible future SW Shattuck projects.

7:35 to 7:40 PM (including Q&A): Craig Koon (SWHRL Land Use and Transportation Chair) (if available) will give his perspective on what Portland District 4 commissioners can do to help get Shattuck Road safety projects done.

Afterwards, we will have a discussion of how to get more safety projects fully funded. We have invited all three Portland District 4 commissioners to attend.
